Please note: Pre-ground coffee beans can quickly lose their freshness, resulting in a notable decrease in aroma and flavor. For this reason, we don’t recommend a grinding service. We strongly encourage our customers to grind their coffee beans just before use for the best experience.

Origin Story

Marysabel Caballero and Moisés Herrera embody the heart and soul of Honduran coffee, blending generations of tradition with a commitment to sustainability and community. As a fourth-generation coffee farmer, Marysabel continues her family’s legacy, which began in 1907 when her great-grandfather, Don Felipe García, first cultivated coffee in Marcala—transporting it by mule to El Salvador for export. Moisés, originally from Guatemala’s coffee industry, recognized the potential of Chinacla’s high-altitude lands in 1992. Together since 1996, they built their farm, La Maltide, focusing on quality, innovation, and environmental care. In 2020, they redesigned their processing facilities to reduce water use and improve efficiency through gravity-fed systems. Beyond coffee, they invest in their workers, funding annual home renovations in Marcala to uplift their community. Their story is one of deep roots, relentless dedication, and a vision for coffee farming that honors both people and the planet—a testament to the passion behind every cup they produce.

We recommend starting with a 1:18 coffee-to-water ratio, which provides an excellent total extraction level and maximizes flavor pulled out of the ground coffee. For our single origin coffees we recommend a pour over method either on a Chemex, V60 or Kalita Wave.
